With day two of the NFL Combine in the books, let’s take a look at the handful of upcoming stars that the Cardinals have spoken with.
CB Joey Porter Jr., Penn St.
Porter kept it simple when describing Arizona, reminiscing on how the pools “felt like hot tubs” when he was younger.

Porter Jr. projects as high as a 1st round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The cornerback out of Penn St. ran a blazing 4.46–4.47 40-yard dash.

His father, Joey Porter Sr., played 13 seasons in the NFL, and his final two were with none other than the Cardinals.
The last time Arizona drafted a cornerback was in 2011 with Patrick Peterson. Peterson, of course, went on to attend eight Pro Bowls as a member of the Cardinals before signing with the Vikings as a free agent in 2021.
WR Marvin Mims Jr., Oklahoma
As of now, Mims is projected to go in the second or third round, which may be an extremely tempting option for Arizona.
With the return of DeAndre Hopkins still up in the air, the Cardinals could very well look to pick up a talented young wide receiver to join Hollywood Brown and Greg Dorth.
By trading Hopkins, Arizona could potentially land a handful of second round picks or even a first-rounder, depending on how teams value the 30-year-old.
Mims reeled in over 1,000 yards and six touchdowns during his junior season at Oklahoma.

QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA
Dorian Thompson-Robinson has suddenly become a major topic of discussion at the combine as many teams look for potential backup quarterbacks.
With the rising threat of serious injuries to a team’s starters, last season revealed that a talented backup quarterback can be a true difference maker.
Along with the Cardinals, the Vikings, Eagles, 49ers, and Cowboys have all met with this dual-threat quarterback out of UCLA.

With Kyler Murray out for almost half of the season, Arizona could potentially be looking to grab a quarterback as early as the third round. If Robinson is still available, one would assume Monti Ossenfort would give it serious consideration.
Robinson finished off his senior season with a college career high of 3154 yards and 27 touchdowns.
