Arizona Rattlers Getting Ready For Season Opener on Friday

The Arizona Rattlers are set to open their 2023 game on the road this season as they take on the Quad City Steamwheelers on Friday. This is the first time the Rattlers will be playing the Quad City Steamwheelers in their history as the Steamwheelers joined the IFL in 2019.

A matchup that fans will be looking forward to seeing is former MVP Drew Powell taking on 2-time IFL Offensive player of the year E.J. Hilliard. Powell led the IFL with 53 touchdown passes and Hilliard led the IFL with total touchdowns per game.

The Rattlers are returning the majority of their team as Powell along with, Braxton Haley, Davontae Merriweather, and Dillion Winfrey who were all IFL First-Team are returning to the team in hopes to run it back for another year.

After finishing the season 14-4 as the top-seeded team in the Western Conference Championship round, the Rattlers are looking to hopefully get back this season and get another championship trophy to bring back home to the Valley. Kickoff is at 5:05 AZ time.
