According to Justin Melo from The Draft Network, the Cardinals hosted ASU cornerback Ro Torrence for a pre-draft visit.

“ASU Football CB Ro Torrence is a big-bodied DB with 34-inch arms,” Melo said. “73 tackles + 13 PBUs in the past two seasons. Torrence had a good local day workout with the Cardinals. Recent virtual [meetings] include the [Kansas City] Chiefs and [Baltimore] Ravens.”

Originally, Torrence began his college journey at Hutchinson Community College in 2019 and played two seasons there.

Ready for the next level, he accepted an offer from Auburn in 2021. With the Tigers, the Alabama native appeared in three games, collected five tackles and forced a fumble.

Torrence would enter the transfer portal after just one season at Auburn before ending up at Arizona State. The 6-foot-3 corner played 21 games, collecting 73 tackles, two interceptions, two sacks and 11 pass breakups in Tempe.

After looking at recent mock drafts, he is landing in the seventh round. The Cardinals will select in the round at No. 226 in the draft because of a prior trade with the New York Giants.

Arizona currently has Sean Murphy-Bunting, Garrett Williams, Andre Chachere, Michael Ojemudia, Darren Hall, Kei’Trel Moore, Qwauntrezz Knight, Starling Thomas V, Divaad Wilson and Quavian White as cornerbacks for the upcoming season.

Torrence and Colorado State defensive back Chigozie Anusiem both recently visited the Cards before the draft begins on Thursday at 5 p.m. PT.

At the 2024 NFL Draft, Arizona has six picks in the first three rounds and 11 in total.
