Perdomo will undergo surgery, sidelining him for at least a month. He is currently on the 10-day IL.

Last season, Perdomo committed just four errors and earned his first career All-Star selection.

In his absence, rookie Blaze Alexander will take over at shortstop alongside Jace Peterson.

The Diamondbacks have already faced several injuries, with Paul Sewald, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Alek Thomas all on the injured list.

Stay tuned for further updates.
