The Cardinals only gave up 10 points which was the third best in the NFL. Only behind the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons. The Chargers shut out the New England Patriots. The Falcons only allowed the New York Jets to score eight points.

The Chargers did not allow the Patriots to score at all which is impressive but the Patriots aren’t exactly an offensive juggernaut. They are 32nd in points per game, scoring 12.3 points per game.

The Falcons were able to shut down the Jets. The Jets are another team that has trouble scoring. New York is 30th in points per game, scoring 14.3 points per game.

The Cardinals were able to hold the Steelers to 10 points. The Steelers are not a great offensive team either. Pittsburgh is 28th in points per game, scoring 16 points per game.

The Cardinals played against the best offense of these three. Now, it has to be pointed out that the Steelers lost their starting quarterback towards the end of the second quarter.

Arizona’s defense was great but didn’t have the best performance of the week. The Los Angeles Chargers earned that title with their shutout of the Patriots.
