While Mikal Bridges still holds a special place in the hearts of fans across Arizona, the feeling may not be entirely mutual, especially when it comes to Arizona Diamondbacks fans.

Not only was Bridges born and raised in Philadelphia, but he was also selected in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Unfortunately for Bridges, he was then traded minutes later over to the Phoenix Suns, a moment that left him with mixed emotions.

For 4.5 seasons, Bridges called Phoenix home, where he swiftly earned the adoration of fans and established himself as one of the league’s premier role players.

But his popularity in Phoenix didn’t sway him from his roots as a Phillies fan. In fact, he made it clear that his allegiance remained with the Phillies, even when attending a Diamondbacks game, as evident in the picture above.

As expected, when the Diamondbacks took down the Phillies in the NLCS and advanced to the World Series, Mikal Bridges was less than thrilled.

Following Game 7, the former Suns star tweeted out, “I’m blocking everyone from AZ.”

Naturally, the comments were filled with Diamondbacks’ fans making sure they could rub in the win as much as possible.
