Breaking away from the trend of the past week, the D-backs summoned some late-inning magic in the 9th to pick up the win.

While their early-game magic was certainly there, as they picked up a run in the 1st and 2nd innings, Arizona entered the 9th tied 3-3 with Colorado.

After Ketel Marte led off the inning by drawing a walk, and then Christian Walker drew a walk with two outs, Eugenio Suarez grabbed his first signature moment with the Diamondbacks by knocking a double perfectly down the line to drive in two runs.

But the Diamondbacks would not have been in a situation to take a win in the 9th if it were not for their study bullpen.

Supporting Tommy Henry, who conceded three earned runs over five innings, Bryce Jarvis, Joe Mantiply, and Kevin Ginkel collectively delivered four scoreless innings.

Ginkel, navigating through some difficulties, secured his second save of the season. Despite allowing a single and a couple of walks, he compelled Nolan Jones to fly out to center field, leaving the bases loaded and sealing the game.

The Diamondbacks are scheduled for a day off tomorrow before returning to action on Friday, when Paul Goldschmidt and the Cardinals visit Chase Field.
