The players know that while this start is important for the confidence of the team, it all begins to really matter come playoff time.
“It means a lot even with the losses, we’re learning what we need to do to get better so we’re ready for our games in February and March,” senior guard Braeden Speed said when speaking on the team’s start to the season.

Ultimate Goal For Brophy
As for the majority of teams, Brophy has an ultimate goal and that is to come away with a state championship.
“A state championship is always the goal,” junior guard Ryan Burbach said. “But we are constantly striving to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be.”

The Broncos undoubtedly have the talent to compete with any team in the state and should not be overlooked when it comes to the open state playoffs this season.
Matchup Outlook
This is not an easy matchup by any means and the Broncos know that. The Crespi Celts of Encino, California have started their season with a 14-1 record and are ranked as the No. 16 team in the extremely competitive state of California. However, Brophy is not letting that change the way they prepare for the matchup.
“We prepare for every team the same, no matter the talent of a team. There’s never a time that you can underestimate a team, that’s just not how elite programs operate,” Burbach said. “We are all super excited to get after it Tuesday.”
This is one that you must tune in to as two elite high school programs from different states face off against each other.
