James, who would enter his 24th NBA season when the 2026-27 campaign begins, let the Los Angeles Lakers know that he would leave the organization to explore another team. That has sparked a flurry of hypotheticals, dream lineups and even calls for teams to make a splash by pursuing the All-Star.
But when a Suns fan asked whether there was a possibility Phoenix could recruit James to the Valley, Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro’s one-word answer quickly shot that notion down.
no

“No,” Gambadoro replied.
The Suns are undergoing their own offseason roster shakeup as they continue to build around star Devin Booker. They already drafted Valley native Koa Peat in this year’s draft and extended several key pieces. They also traded for Miles Bridges in a deal that sent Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale to the Charlotte Hornets.
With Allen and O’Neale off the roster, Phoenix is now looking for shooters to replace their production from beyond the arc. It appears James is not on the priority list.

Still, with a franchise built around Booker and a Western Conference that continues to shift year to year, speculation around major stars is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
For now, though, the Suns appear focused on internal development and targeted moves rather than chasing another blockbuster name.
