Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall discussed the possibility of bringing the event back to Phoenix during an appearance on Arizona Sports’ Bickley & Marotta, saying the franchise’s previous experience as a host makes it a realistic goal.
“I think it’s time as well,” Hall said.
However, Hall pointed to one key factor that could determine MLB’s willingness to award Phoenix another All-Star Game: ongoing renovations at Chase Field.

“However, they’re going to probably wait until we have renovations completed or a majority of the renovations because they either look for a new ballpark or a highly renovated, newly renovated ballpark to host an All-Star Game,” Hall said. “So we are setting up. I mean, it looks like we’re going to get back in that line of, ‘Hey, it’s our turn,’ but I want to get a lot of those major renovations done over the next couple of years first.”
Phoenix last hosted the All-Star Game in 2011, when Chase Field drew 49,033 fans and showcased the Valley on one of baseball’s biggest stages.

Since then, MLB has rotated the event through newer or recently upgraded ballparks. The 2025 All-Star Game was held at Truist Park in Atlanta, while upcoming hosts include Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia in 2026 and Wrigley Field in Chicago in 2027, part of MLB’s effort to pair the showcase with major markets.
A return to Phoenix would come as Chase Field prepares for significant upgrades following a recently approved $500 million public funding package, along with additional team investment to upgrade its air conditioning system and fan amenities.

Another All-Star Game would not only bring baseball’s biggest stars back to the desert but also renew national attention on the franchise and downtown Phoenix.
The organization views a future bid as increasingly realistic once renovations are done, putting Chase Field back on MLB’s radar to host one of the most anticipated events of the year.
