There has been a lot of excitement around the (1-5) Arizona Cardinals this week as two of their best players have been able to join the team at practice.

The other player who came back to practice this week is Kyler Murray. Murray tore his ACL late last season and is now just starting to practice again with the team. There has been a lot of talk around this team when it comes to Murray.
Is he the right quarterback to lead this team to a championship? Should the Cardinals wait to play him to protect the chance they have at a high draft pick?
Can Kyler Murray lead the Cardinals to a championship?
Kyler Murray has shown the ability to be a winning quarterback in this league. He lead the Cardinals to the playoffs in the 2021 season. Murray has also been selected to go to the Pro Bowl twice in his career. He completed 67% and 69% of his passes respectively in those two seasons. Murray is definitely good enough to win a championship on a team with the right talent surrounding him. How do they get that talent?
Should the Cardinals Wait to Play Murray?
The Cardinals are currently in position to get a top five draft pick. Only the Carolina Panthers have a worse record at 0-6. The Cardinals are tied with the Denver Broncos, New York Giants, New England Patriots, and Chicago Bears at 1-5. The return of Kyler Murray could be a good thing for the team in the short term. They will win more games but not enough to make it to the playoffs.Is that worth bringing him back now?

Former New York Jets head coach Herm Edwards had an epic rant where he talked about how you always play to win the game. Is it best to win for now or win later?
The Cardinals have two first round picks, their own and the Houston Texans pick. The Texans are currently 3-3 and may exceed expectations this season. Arizona was expected to have a chance at two picks landing in the top five. That may now go out of the window with Houston being better than expected and Kyler Murray set to return.
Yes, you play to win the game but that game is the Superbowl. The Cardinals should wait to play Murray and give themselves the best shot at building a championship roster going forward.
