Departing from ASU to turn pro, Mallory went undrafted this year and took up the opportunity by joining the Bears on a rookie tryout before this news.

As a three-star recruit out of Bolingbrook High School in Illinois, he was part of the graduating class of 2018.

The 6-foot-1, 275-pound lineman would originally start college at Michigan State in 2018 and redshirted. Mallory played 31 games, totaling 43 tackles, 2.5 sacks and breaking up one pass in 2020-22.

Last season, he transferred from Michigan State to Arizona State. In Tempe, Mallory played 12 games, grabbing 48 tackles and defended four passes.

Now that he has made the 90-man roster for the Bears, the Illinois native will get to represent his local team as Chicago is just about 40 minutes away from Bolingbrook. Now he will compete for his spot on the main 53-man roster after this monumental feat.

With Mallory heading to the NFL, Clayton Smith, Elijah O’Neal, Prince Dorbah, Jeff Clark, Chance Symons, Ramar Williams, Roman Pitre, Harold Brooks III, Justin Wodtly, J.P Deeter, Landen Thomas, Kyran Boudra, Tristan Monday, Anthonie Cooper, Jacob Rich Kongaika, Blazen Lono-Wong and C.J. Fite make up the defensive line depth for Arizona State. On Monday morning, Sam Benjamin announced that he was transferring to San Diego State.
