Europe had dominated the entire event, but the US made a major comeback. The team won three points yesterday afternoon before winning five matches today. It was good enough to make it last until the final three singles matches. That birdie putt by Fleetwood guaranteed that, despite their efforts, the US would fall 16-11.

On the US side, Scottsdale resident Max Homa was the team MVP, winning 3.5 points and sinking a 10-footer on 18 this morning to secure a singles win over Matt Fitzpatrick. It also kept the Ryder Cup alive for the US.

This was the United States 15th straight loss on European soil. They haven’t won a Ryder Cup in Europe since 1993.
The 2025 Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage Black in New York.
Homa and Cantlay carry the US to first Ryder Cup session win.
