Homa played in both sessions of Ryder Cup play today. In the first session, Homa played with teammate Brina Harman. European’s Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg tore apart the duo. The Hovland/Aberg pairing won 4 & 3. This means that they led by four holes with three left.

In the second session, Homa was paired with his Scottsdale counterpart, Wyndham Clark. This was Clark’s first appearance of the day. They would tie their match against European stalwarts Justin Rose and Robert MacIntyre. However, they had a two-hole lead with two holes to play but lost both the last two holes. It still gave the U.S. half a point.

As for the rest of the US team, they never led a match in the first session. The team lost all four points and fell to an early 4-0 lead.

Team Captain Zach Johnson brought in the big guns in the second session. He used Jordan Speith, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, and Clark, as mentioned above. Those four would all gain half points for the team. The US tied three of the four matches played. The team with the only loss was the grouping of Xander Shauffele and Colin Morikawa.

Homa will tee off again for the US in the third round of matches tonight at 11:05 PM with Brian Harman, the Open champion.

Phil Mickelson shows his support for the US Ryder Cup Team.
