Even in the absence of Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs sustained their dominance over the Suns this season, securing a 104-102 victory.

Down the stretch the Suns were forced to attempt a comeback without Jusuf Nurkic and Bradley Beal as they departed with injuries.

Nevertheless, this loss surely ranks as one of, if not the most disappointing defeats of the season, especially considering that the Spurs, who are 40 games below .500, were without their best player.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker led the charge with a combined 65 points. However, their efforts were insufficient as Royce O’Neale was the only other player to reach double digits, contributing 12 points.

Turnovers once again plagued the Suns, who gave up the ball 15 times in contrast to San Antonio’s mere 7 turnovers.

Additionally, the Suns faced challenges in earning free throw opportunities and capitalizing on them, a typically strong aspect of their game. In the fourth quarter, Phoenix managed only a single trip to the free-throw line, converting two free throws, while the Spurs made 12.

In Wembanyama’s absence, Jeremy Sochan and Devin Vassell stepped up, each scoring 26 points. For Sochan, this marked his highest point total since January 26th.

Looking ahead, the Suns face a daunting final stretch of 10 games this season, all against playoff teams. This challenging sequence kicks off on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets, with the tipoff at 7 PM.
