In the extra frame, the Coyotes rookie dynamic duo of Dylan Guenther and Logan Cooley worked their magic.
After a few shot attempts from both teams, the time had dwindled down to one minute remaining. With the ‘Yotes in possession behind their net, Cooley launched a pass to Guenther who clinched the game-winning goal with a shot right over the shoulder of Kraken goaltender and ASU alum, Joey Daccord.

Since Guenther was called up from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL), he has garnered strong chemistry between himself and Cooley.
“We sit together (in the locker room), we sit on the plane together, we spend a lot of time together so that helps,” Guenther said. “I think when you are friends with someone off the ice, it helps your on-ice chemistry. Our skill sets and games complement each other well, so I think it’s just gonna keep going up from here.”
With the assist from Cooley, Guenther became the fifth Coyotes player under 20 years old or younger to score an overtime winner in team history. Dale Hawerchuk, Shane Doan, Christian Fischer and Clayton Keller are his four predecessors.
