Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz had the Phoenix Suns linked in trade rumors with none other than Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns, who is known for his relationship with Devin Booker through his college years at Kentucky, has been vocal in the past about wanting an opportunity to play alongside his friend.

How the Suns could end up in this position is highlighted by Swartz, as he mentions, “The Suns could be the third team in a hypothetical Giannis Antetokounmpo-to-New York trade, with Towns headed to Phoenix and young talent like Jalen Green, Ryan Dunn, Khaman Maluach, and/or Mark Williams and picks going to the Milwaukee Bucks. A team with Booker, Towns, Dillon Brooks, Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale, and whatever is leftover would at least be competitive in the West.” (Credit: Bleacher Report | Greg Swartz)

After what the Phoenix Suns just went through after trading their entire future after a 2021 NBA Finals run to get superstars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, there also might be some hesitation in letting young athletic pieces go in return for aging stars. Suns fans want consistency and not a rotating carousel every couple of years when things aren’t working out. The recipe for success in the NBA as of late has been to build up a young core of talent and address good depth pieces, which the Phoenix Suns are looking to do with their new identity.
