According to Arizona Sports, head coach Jordan Ott said Goodwin “seems to be improving” while once again ruling out Mark Williams for Monday’s matchup. If Goodwin is good to go, that would be massive for the Suns as they look to extend their season and avoid being swept by the reigning NBA champions.

Goodwin has been sidelined since suffering a left calf injury earlier in the series in Game 1, where he played only five minutes and scored two points. With him ruled out for Games 2 and 3, Phoenix has struggled without him on defense and his clutch 3-point shooting.
The Suns have leaned more heavily on their primary ball-handlers, which has significantly tightened rotations and reduced defensive versatility late in games. That strain has been consistent in a series that has increasingly tilted toward possession control and transition opportunities.

This season, Goodwin has averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
The stakes for Game 4 are the highest they’ve been for Phoenix up to this moment. Win and extend the series, or lose and see the season end. With a head coach hopeful to have another player ready to contribute and avoid the sweep, it will take more than just one player to do so.

If Goodwin is cleared to play, even in limited minutes, he could provide the Suns with needed energy and defense when it is needed most. If he cannot go, Phoenix will be forced to adjust on the fly against a Thunder team that has controlled both ends of the floor.
The Suns and Thunder tip off Game 4 on Monday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m.
