TEMPE – At the end of Arizona State Football’s season, the name emerging on NFL draft boards was wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. The ASU product was titled as the best player at his position and possibly a top five pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, as the Combine passed, experts began to put doubt about the 21 years old health. Tyson only played in 21 games in the past two seasons and had been in and out of the lineup with nagging injures.

However, ASU head football coach Kenny Dillingham took the time on Tuesday to make his case for Tyson ahead of Thursday’s NFL Draft.

Dillingham on what made Tyson great at ASU:
As a Sun Devil, Tyson had stellar playmaking ability. Tyson’s ability to extend plays was fueled by his athletic ability and competitive spirt. Against one of the top defenses in Texas Tech, he would be in and out of the game because of a nagging hamstring injuries, and while lesser players would’ve sat out, he continued to play.
Tyson finished the game with 10 catches for 105 receiving yards and a touchdown to upset the seventh ranked school in college football.

At ASU, Tyson finished with 136 catches for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns in just 21 games. When on the field, he is one of the toughest game changers a team could have, and Dillingham made sure to highlight that on Tuesday. After the loss of Cam Skattebo, Dillingham needed a new offensive spark, and Tyson fulfilled that role perfectly.
Ironically, many draft boards has Tyson reuniting with Skattebo in New York, as the Giants have the 10th pick. If he joins John Harbaugh system in the Big Apple, the ASU standout could easily be a WR1 in the NFL and quickly rise the ranks amongst some of the league’s best with his raw ability.
