The Arizona Cardinals will have a key weapon back in their offense for Monday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, as rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has been cleared from concussion protocol. Harrison exited early in Week 6’s loss but returned to full participation in practice on Friday, and he is no longer listed on the Cardinals’ injury report.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! While the former 4th overall pick has failed to have a 50-yard game since Week 3, he will be receiving some extra help in the receiving room as the Cardinals will have Zay Jones for the first time this season. Jones missed the first five games due to suspension and was sidelined last week with an injury.
The Cardinals, looking for their first win against the Chargers since 2014, will need Jones to help relieve some of the defensive pressure on Harrison and open up the passing attack, which has sputtered at times this season. Facing one of the NFL’s top defenses, Arizona’s offense will have its work cut out. The Chargers have allowed just 289 yards per game this season, ranking 6th in the league, a significant improvement from the 363 yards per game they surrendered in 2023-2024. Los Angeles also leads the NFL in points allowed, giving up just 13.2 points per game.
So far, only one quarterback—Gardner Minshew in Week 1—has managed to throw for over 250 yards against the Chargers‘ stout defense. For the Cardinals to break that trend, both Harrison and Jones will need to step up in a big way.
