PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns forward Bol Bol will not be playing for South Sudan in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Leonard Solms wrote in an ESPN story that Bol “is out of the roster for Paris for undisclosed ‘personal reasons.'” The news was confirmed to ESPN by assistant coach Ajou Deng.
South Sudan plays Team USA in a friendly tomorrow in London after defeating Great Britain 84-81 in an exhibition Thursday. Team USA players, including Bol’s Suns teammate Kevin Durant, have a lot of respect for South Sudan, whose roster includes Memphis Grizzlies big man Wenyen Gabriel.
High praise from LeBron and KD ahead of tomorrow’s final exhibition game before the Olympics.

Both the U.S. and South Sudan are in Group C in the Olympics and will square off against each other in Paris on July 31.
Bol re-signed with Phoenix on a one-year, veteran-minimum deal earlier this month.
Bol quickly became a fan favorite after he signed with the Suns on a one-year contract last summer following being waived by the Orlando Magic. The 24-year-old, 7-foot-3 forward averaged 5.2 points on 61.6% shooting (42.3% from 3) and 3.2 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game in 43 contests with the Suns.
