BJ Ojulari speaks on Jacoby Brissett’s situation with Cardinals

Rather than making a prediction, Ojulari gave an honest answer. He admitted he isn’t sure whether Brissett will be on the practice field when camp begins. At the same time, he expressed confidence that general manager Monti Ossenfort and Brissett will continue communicating and ultimately reach an agreement. They align with recent reporting from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who said the Cardinals believe Brissett has earned a pay raise for the 2026 season and that negotiations are focused on financial details. Rapoport also suggested Brissett is more likely to be a “hold-in” than a traditional holdout, remaining around the team while negotiations continue. Ojulari’s perspective adds another layer to that story.

Inside the building, players clearly respect Brissett’s leadership, but they also aren’t pretending to know how negotiations will play out. That honesty reflects the reality of today’s NFL, where business decisions and locker-room relationships often coexist.
