Nylander, Matthew Knies, Tyler Bertuzzi and Auston Matthews all scored for the Maple Leafs (34-17-8). Joseph Woll made 30 saves in his first game back since suffering an ankle injury on Dec. 7.

Logan Cooley and Alex Kerfoot both had goals as the Coyotes (23-31-5) who have lost their 14th game in a row. Connor Ingram stopped 22 shots in the defeat.

After picking up the puck off of a turnover by Cooley, Marner sprung onto a breakaway before dropping it back to Knies to score as Toronto took the first lead of the game, 1-0 with 6:56 left in the first period.

Bertuzzi would tip a shot by William Lagesson to redirect it past Ingram before Matthews netted his 53rd goal of the season in the second to make it 3-0 Maple Leafs.

While shorthanded, Kerfoot, a former Maple Leaf, had a breakaway and he scored to shorten the deficit to 3-1 with 5:21 remaining in the second.

Arizona cranked up the offensive pressure from there as they had multiple chances to tie it. The Coyotes outshot Toronto 13-4 in the third period.

Cooley tapped in a rebound off the post as the puck was sitting in the crease behind Woll for a 3-2 game.

But to wrap the game up, Nylander fired a shot from Toronto’s defensive zone into an empty ‘Yotes net, sealing a 4-2 win.
