PHOENIX – Nike Basketball has collabed with the Phoenix Suns on a social media post with a mysterious teaser featuring its old-school logo against a grainy black background, accompanied by one date: Sept. 15, 2026. Almost immediately, the speculation began. Is a new Suns jersey coming?

If you’re going back to the 93 look. That’s a win.

That possibility makes sense. Nike and the NBA have launched a league-wide teaser campaign using similar graphics and the same release date, strongly suggesting that something uniform-related is on the horizon. For Suns fans, however, this is about more than another jersey. The franchise is entering a distinctly different chapter. Devin Booker remains the centerpiece, while Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green represent a dramatically different supporting cast. A fresh uniform could become the visual symbol of that transition. If Phoenix taps into its 1990s identity, the emotional connection could be even stronger.

The Suns have already demonstrated the power of nostalgia. Their 2022-23 Classic Edition brought back the iconic 1992-93-inspired look, a uniform the organization itself described as one of the most popular in franchise history. That history matters because uniforms become attached to memories. For longtime fans, the rising sunburst represents Charles Barkley, NBA Finals basketball and a defining era of Phoenix sports. For younger fans, bringing elements of that identity forward could make the new generation feel connected to the franchise’s past.

The Sept. 15 reveal therefore carries strategic significance. If Nike and Phoenix deliver a jersey that blends nostalgia with a modern identity, it could become more than a popular piece of merchandise. It could become the uniform fans associate with the beginning of the Booker-Green-Brooks era. The Suns have not officially confirmed a new jersey yet, but the teaser has created exactly the kind of anticipation a major uniform launch needs. If the design successfully bridges the franchise’s history with its future, Phoenix could be selling fans a piece of the next era.
