Chance at a title

After an up-and-down regular season, Liberty entered the Open State Playoffs as the No. 31 seed and was eliminated by Notre Dame Prep in Round One.

The Lions (17-12) then upset both Hamilton and Cesar Chavez to begin the 6A Playoffs.

Led by elite two-way senior Ring Nyeri, the team is capable of competing with any team in the conference.

Liberty’s Ring Nyeri voted 6A Northwest Valley Region OPOY

The team made an Open State quarterfinals run last year before being knocked out by the eventual champion Perry Pumas

Next Up

Liberty will next travel to face the Pinnacle Pioneers (15-13) for a potiential spot in the 6A Championship game.

These two teams have already matched up against each other twice this season, splitting the series 1-1.

The Pioneers are red-hot entering this matchup, having outscored their last two playoff opponents 150-82. The winner of this will face the winner of Sandra Day and Boulder Creek in the championship game
