GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals look to exercise some demons in Week 2 vs. NFC West rivals Seattle Seahawks. The franchise hasn’t beaten Seattle since Nov. 2021 and haven’t done it at State Farm Stadium since Oct. 2020. Those nine straight losses have made Arizona even more of a little brother in its division, with 2025 being the worst example.
The Cardinals lost by 20+ in both matchups against the Seahawks last season. The Super Bowl champs had their way with Arizona, but this Sunday looks different. Starting QB Sam Darnold will be out for the game, opening a door for head coach Mike LaFleur

Can Arizona break streak?
Backup quarterback Drew Lock stepped in last week for Darnold and held down the offense for Seattle, leading to the comeback win vs. the New England Patriots. A week of practice will make that unit even more dangerous. The Cardinals will need to force Lock to make plays and try to control the trenches.
Forcing pressure and containing the run game should be LaFleur’s top goals. Getting Lock out of the pocket will force him to improvise, which is what Arizona wants to generate turnovers. Jadarian Price is playing his second game on Sunday and making him uncomfortable will shut down a massive part of their offense.

Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is going to generate plays and yards. The Cardinals defensive backs won’t be able to stop him, which is why getting to Lock quickly is crucial to have him to look for another option quickly.
Arizona’s defense looked impressive in Week 1 vs. a talented Los Angeles Chargers, making one believe that it could handle Seattle. However, recent injury news regarding Roy Lopez might throw all of that hope for Cardinals out the window.
Injury to Roy Lopez could lead Cardinals to tough Week 2 vs. Seahawks
