PHOENIX — After the Arizona Diamondbacks’ back-to-back series losses to the Texas Rangers and Miami Marlins, fans are letting out their frustration online as the club’s postseason chances continue to dwindle.

A few weeks ago, it looked like the Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres would come down to the wire for the final National League wild-card spot, with the two teams flip-flopping in the standings. Now, the gap has grown considerably. After losing four of their last six games, Arizona sits at 80-73, 3.5 games behind San Diego for the third and final NL wild-card spot.
FanGraphs currently gives the Diamondbacks a 16.2% chance of making the postseason, a steep drop from where they stood just days ago. And the schedule isn’t exactly offering Arizona a break.

The D-Backs will host the New York Yankees for a three-game series before heading to Colorado for three games against the Rockies. Then comes the series that could define the final stretch of Arizona’s season: a three-game road set against the Padres from Sept. 25-27.
Fans are becoming increasingly frustrated not only with the losses, but with the lack of execution in those losses. Errors, missed opportunities and questionable decisions have only added to the tension surrounding a team that entered the season with postseason expectations.
This needs to be an offseason of change, and no one is safe.
Management. The entire staff. The players. The broadcast booth.
We need a Red Wedding, Diamondbacks style.

The people running the Diamondbacks are a joke. Missing the playoffs 8 times out of the last 9 years and the coaches and mangers still get to keep their jobs. Meanwhile the suns cares about winning and they fire people who are incompetent.

The Diamondbacks have already made significant changes, including designating former All-Star Lourdes Gurriel Jr. for assignment and moving Zac Gallen to the bullpen.
But with the calendar quickly running out, the question is becoming less about what went wrong and more about what comes next.
Arizona still has a path to October. But with the Yankees coming to town, Colorado waiting on the road and San Diego looming in the final series, the Snakes have very little room left for another stumble.

And if this season does end without a playoff berth, there might be a bigger question waiting for them: Will the Diamondbacks view this as a team that simply fell short, or as a team that needs to be rebuilt before it gets another chance?
