The Suns were nearing a catastrophic loss on Sunday night against the 4-20 Washington Wizards as they entered the 3rd quarter trailing by double digits in front of the home crowd at the Footprint Cetner.

Having lost six of their last eight games, bringing Phoenix to just one game above the .500 mark, fans were on the brink watching their team full of stars trail one of the worst teams in the NBA.

This, of course, led to some, at least in hindsight, overreactions on X.

One tweet in particular caught Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic’s attention.

The tweet, which was more than likely satire, suggested a trade with the Wizards that included Nurkic, Nassir Little, and Bol Bol heading to Detroit.

It was posted at a moment when the Suns were down by more than 10, and the Wizards could seemingly not miss a shot.

After Phoenix ultimately pulled away with a win, thanks to a 4th quarter comeback led by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, Nurkic replied to the fan with a simple “Lmao.”

In the Suns win, Jusuf Nurkic came close to a season high with 17 rebounds; he also contributed with 5 assists.

While the Suns may be struggling, Nurkic has actually been playing some of the best basketball of his career. Phoenix’s big man has had four straight games of at least 12 rebounds and has scored double-digit points in four of their last five games.
