In a release, the Suns said: “Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will miss the next two weeks of play to rehab a right ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated at the start of January.”

Two weeks from today would be exactly Jan. 1, meaning Beal will be out for at least the next six games for the Suns (14-12). When Jan. 1 rolls around, there will be 50 regular season games left.

Beal walked into last night’s game on crutches and a slide on his ankle. Suns’ coach Frank Vogel shared his thoughts on Beal’s injury before playing the Wizards yesterday.

“Well we all want him out there,” Vogel said. “But every team has ankle sprains on their roster. All three of our guys (Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant) have had ankle sprains. So, you know you are disappointed for him because you know how much he wants to be out there. But we don’t want to spend a lot of time frustrated with injuries. We focus on the guys that we have, and we go win games with those guys.”

Beal missed 19 of the team’s first 22 games with a low back strain. He returned for two full games then injured his ankle in the first few minutes against the Knicks.

Beal has appeared in six contests this year and is averaging 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 25.2 minutes per game.

“Injuries are a part of the game,” Vogel said postgame against the Knicks. “I am disappointed for him; he’s worked really hard. You can see the disappointment on his face, so that’s my biggest concern is keeping him lifted. He’ll get back soon enough, but it’s been frustrating injury type of season for him and in terms for us? Injuries are a part of the game. You can’t get caught up in that and you move on.”

The Suns are 2-4 in the games that Beal has played in. In total, their Big 3 of Beal, Durant and Booker have only played 24 minutes together this season.
