On the very first day he is eligible to be traded, rumors have been swirling that the San Antonio Spurs are interested in Phoenix Suns forward Bol Bol.

Bol has not played much for the Suns, despite fans constantly asking for him to see some time on the court. However, did get some real minutes in Tuesday’s victory over the Warriors.

In the 4;35 that he played between the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second, he recorded two rebounds, but was a -16 overall.

For the season, Bol has only played 13 combined minutes across five game appearances and scored two points total.

For all of these reasons, fans are quick to point out that the 7-foot-3 24-year-old could be a trade target. The time has now come that he can be traded after he signed a one-year, 2.2 veteran minimum deal in July.

The Spurs are reported to have interest in him, according to Hoop Wire’s Sam Amico. This would pair Bol up with the 7-foot-5 rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama. San Antonio’s last win came against the Suns all the way back on Nov. 2, as they have lost 18 in a row and are 3-20 overall.

Bol could be given a chance for more minutes given his similar skillset to Wembanyama and the Spurs’ struggles.

What makes these rumors even more interesting is that Shaquille O’Neal earlier this season went viral for saying: “You all act like you’ve never seen a guy like [Victor Wembanyama] before. Yes, you have. His name is Bol Bol.”

We will see if anything materializes from these rumors. Stay tuned to burncitysports.com.
