© Nell Redmond- USA TODAY Sports

That’s one head coach out of the running as the Milwaukee Bucks have hired Toronto Raptors assistant coach Adrian Griffin as their next head coach as Shams Charania had it first earlier this morning.

The most interesting part of this is that former Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse was a part of the coaches that the Bucks were looking into hiring for their next head coach.

It was reported that Nurse took his name out of the running before the Bucks had to make a decision with one of Griffin and Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson for the head coach position.

For the Suns, Griffin wasn’t a part of the final finalists that Adrian Wojnarowski, Chris Haynes, or Shams said in the Suns’ search for their head coaching vacancy.

It is worth noting that one of the top finalists on the Suns’ coaching search is Nurse who recently interviewed with the Suns on Thursday according to John Gambadaro.

With Nurse still in the mix for the Suns, here’s an updated odds list of who will be the Suns’ next head coach according to Sportsline.

  • Nick Nurse: Even
  • Kevin Young: +200
  • Doc Rivers: +500
  • Jordi Fernandez: +1000

It’s nice to note that before Haynes and Shams reported about the Suns’ coaching list, Wojnarowski reported that the Suns’ final 4 in the coaching cycle will come down to Nurse, Young, Rivers, and Fernandez.

This comes at an interesting time since Nurse moved his name out of the running for the Bucks job. It even has fans imagining that Nurse might have his eyes set on Phoenix.

There have been a lot of reports saying that the Suns’ head coaching cycle can come to a conclusion by memorial day weekend. Only time will tell but things are only going to get more interesting from here on out.
