Well, look no further than Tyron Lue who’s currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers but is about to discuss with Clippers brass whether or not he will be handed a contract extension to continue his time in Los Angeles.

The Suns are also in play for a guy like Nick Nurse who has just been relieved of his duties with the Toronto Raptors as they’re looking to move in a new direction. Shams Charania of Fan Duel talked about the options this morning on the Fan Duel show.

There’s no mistake that this is Mat Ishbia running the show now in Phoenix. It’s looking like if they had their pick of the litter, they would easily want to grab Ty Lue and have him become the next head coach of the Phoenix Suns.

Marc Stein of the NBA reported that as of right now, Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is a huge fan of Ty Lue and would like to have him back to coach the Clippers in the future.

“It is not yet clear, however, how feasible any approach for Lue will be. [Suns owner Mat] Ishbia’s very aggressive, spare-no-expense nature led to the deadline-day trade acquisition of Kevin Durant in February, but Lue is still under contract to the Clippers and, according to league sources, can count Clippers owner Steve Ballmer as a huge fan of his.

“Would Ballmer and the Clippers actually allow Lue to join not only a conference rival but a team in the same division?”

Monty Williams Leaves Behind a Great Legacy in Suns History

This is the million-dollar question but it’s clear as day that the Suns will have options at their disposal this season. Who will be next in line to become head coach of the Phoenix Suns?
