Deandre Ayton will miss his third straight game due to illness

Deandre Ayton

The Phoenix Suns will be without C Deandre Ayton on Tuesday night against the Hornets.

This will be Ayton’s third straight game sitting out due to an illness. In total, the 6’11” big man has missed eight complete games this year.

However, this has not necessarily been a bad thing for the Suns, solely based off their performance while playing without Ayton. Despite sitting in seventh place in the Western Conference with a.500 record, this team is 7-1 when Ayton is unavailable.

A somewhat alarming record that can be taken in many different ways.

And as Arizona looks to extend their winning streak to four games tomorrow night, the combo of Bismack Biyombo and Jock Landale may be the collection of centers that the Suns need. A win on Tuesday will give Phoenix their first four-game winning streak since late November.

Oddly enough, this team is 6-2 in games where Landale plays for more than 20 minutes and 5-2 in games where Biyombo does the same.
