PHOENIX – With the amount of changes within the Phoenix Suns organization, it looks they want to keep its franchise shooting guard in the Valley. According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, Phoenix is preparing to offer four-time All-Star Devin Booker a record two-year, $150 million contract extension this offseason. If agreed upon, it’ll keep Booker with the Suns until the end of the 2029-2030 season.

Suns ready to offer $150 million extension:
In his age-28 season, Booker appeared in 75 games, the most since 2016-2017. He averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists (career high), and 4.1 rebounds. Despite the impressive numbers, Booker was snubbed off the All-Star team, with the Suns shortcomings likely playing a part in the decision.

The two-time All-NBA member has stayed committed to the franchise since being drafted back in 2015. Booker wants to leave a legacy in Phoenix when he finally hangs up his sneakers. General manager Brian Gregory and Mat Ishbia has stated that the team will not go through a rebuild, which will please Booker’s desire to compete for a title.
The Suns made its first Finals since 1993 only four years ago and have had a far fall from grace. Booker remains the only remnants of that team and will need to do much of the heavy lifting to return to that stage in his career.
