GLENDALE – When Marvin Harrison Jr. entered the NFL as the fourth overall pick in the 2024 draft, the expectation wasn’t simply that he would become a productive receiver. The clip of Harrison failing to secure a wide-open throw quickly spread across social media, where criticism escalated beyond the mistake. Fans have labeled him a bust, questioned his passion, and wondered whether he has the mentality to become a true No. 1 receiver. In today’s NFL, perception can snowball just as quickly as production.

Those reactions exist because Harrison has yet to match the nearly flawless reputation he built at Ohio State. He entered the league as one of the most polished receiver prospects in recent memory, a player many scouts considered as close to a “can’t-miss” talent as the draft offered. Through the 2025 season, however, his 41 catches for 608 yards and four touchdowns fell well below the expectations attached to a franchise cornerstone.

For the Cardinals to take the next step offensively, Harrison doesn’t need to silence social media; he needs to become the reliable playmaker Arizona envisioned when it made him the centerpiece of its future.
