Arizona State’s Xavion Alford on Johnson’s injury:
In 2024, Johnson appeared in two games for ASU. The first was late in the season against BYU, where the redshirt freshman helped secure a first-half onside kick for the Sun Devils, leading to a massive win over the Cougars. The second appearance was in the Big 12 championship against the Iowa State Cyclones, recording three tackles in ASU’s 45-19 win.
Johnson was a young, energetic special team player for the Sun Devils, motivated to see more action on the field for his redshirt sophomore season. However, that sadly won’t happen in 2025, and head coach Kenny Dillingham will have to look to his cornerback room to see if someone in the secondary can step up in Johnson’s absence.
