As Hurricane Milton has caused severe damage to Florida this week, a VIP of Barrett-Jackson’s donated a 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse to raise money for the Samaritan’s Purse, a “nondenominational evangelical Christian organization” that provides aid to those suffering around the world from war, poverty, natural disasters and illnesses.

Hoping to fund as much as it can to help the hurricane relief efforts, the winning bid for the Dark Horse amounted to $350,000. The whole hammer price will go to Samaritan’s Purse to provide support for the Floridians affected by this natural travesty.

In a spectacular turn of events, the car was then donated back and sold again for another $250,000 plus an additional $100,000 donation, totaling $700,000 in for the cause.

Hurricane Milton was labeled a powerful Category 5 storm before making landfall as a Category 3 and has hit Florida with floods, gargantuan levels of rain and high-speed winds among other horrific effects that came with this hurricane.

For the car itself, the blue ember metallic Dark Horse runs on a Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine with a dual air-intake box and throttle-body design. The engine and 10-speed automatic transmission can produce 500hp and 418 ft/lbs of torque.

Whoever won the bid will go home with a new car in their collection, but more importantly, knowing they are helping those overcome the detrimental disaster over in Florida.

Barrett-Jackson will have one more charity car up for auction during the fall event at the WestWorld of Scottsdale this week, the VIN 001 edition of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ and the money will all go towards Detroit Children’s Fund.
