Shooting Guard Landry Shamet is still recovering from a left hip strain that he injured earlier in training camp. I noticed as he was walking back to the locker room he still looked a little gimpy as it appears that he’s still going to need more time to recover. Here’s a video of Shamet talking with the strength and conditioning coaches ahead of today’s game.

Cameron Payne and Cam Johnson Look Fully Healthy:
A great day for Suns fans as fan favorite Cam Johnson is set to make his opening night debut as a starter for the team tonight. My perception of him in warmups is he looks good and ready to go as his hand looks healed and he looks ready to get a new contract extension next year as he’s geared for career year. I’m expecting a big game from him tonight.
Cameron Payne also looks healthy and warmups as he was shooting three’s and getting loose tonight. They’re going to need his scoring off the bench with Shamet out of the lineup tonight.

Deandre Ayton Is Ready To Put The Offseason Behind Him:
A key storyline coming into this season is Suns starting center Deandre Ayton who looked like he was going to be on a new team only a couple of months ago. Ayton looks to be in high spirits and loose as he’s ready to add on to his achievements as one of the best two way center’s in the league. To add on to a great warmup, he even knocked down a half-court shot and was embraced by a bunch of loud Suns fans that cheered on. Safe to say that he has a home here now and for years to come.

It should be a good matchup against two of the best teams in the Western Conference. Let’s see how the Suns start the year off this year against a team they’re looking to get a little bit of revenge on after what happened last year.
