GLENDALE – The emergence of Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson has been sensational to watch. After a career-defining performance in Week 11 vs. the San Francisco 49ers, catching 15 balls for 185 yards, Wilson followed it up with another sensational outing. The third-year Cardinals wide receiver had 10 receptions for 118 yards. Once is luck, but twice is a pattern, and Wilson is proving he is here to stay.

The maturity that the former Stanford product is showing is unreal. In Week 12, the peak example of that was on the final offensive drive in regulation, where Wilson hit a double move on his man to get wide open on a go-route to put Arizona in field goal range to tie the game. A play that immensely impressed his quarterback.

“[Wilson’s] tough. He wants it,” Jacoby Brissett said. “A competitor, you feel it throughout the week. Then, when it comes to Sunday, it’s no surprise with what he does.”

Wilson’s sensational double move on final catch in regulation:

In the past two weeks, the 25-year-old has had 33 targets for 25 catches and 303 receiving yards. The only criticisms for Wilson’s play is he isn’t finding the endzone, which hasn’t been his fault. Since being drafted in the third round in the 2023 draft, the Cardinals and their fans have been waiting for Wilson to cash in on his potential. These recent games have answered those calls.

“I thought he played his butt off,” head coach Jonathan Gannon said. “He’s playing well. He’s getting open, he’s catching it. I thought he had a good run after catch too today. He battles, man. He battles. All those guys do, but he definitely performs at a high level.”

Like many people love to do, comparisons have begun to fly comparing Marvin Harrison Jr. and Wilson. Harrison was trusted to be the franchise wide receiver, with his lack of production being blame on the system. However, Wilson’s recent flurry has people throwing shade at the former fourth overall pick not fitting the bill.

Brissett shut those talks down in his postgame presser in Week 12, saying that he just throws the ball to people who are open. Regardless, Wilson has the most receiving yards in the NFL during his two game explosion and looks to explode pass his career-high in receiving yards in a single season in this final stretch.
