GLENDALE – If the Arizona Cardinals are anything, they are creative. The franchise have found a multitude of ways to lose football games in 2025. Last second field goals, turnovers and anything else under the sun. In Week 12, Arizona had to dig deep in its playbook to find a historic way to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that it did.

The Cardinals forced four turnovers against the Jaguars, with three interceptions and a strip sack into a walk-in touchdown for rookie Walter Nolen. At a +4 in the turnover differential, losing would be tough for Arizona, but nothing out of the realm of possibility.

Cardinals make history…not in the good way:

No team in the past quarter century has lost a game with that significant of a turnover advantage. However, the loss isn’t shocking with how the Cardinals offense responded following the takeaways. The three second-half turnovers led to 29 total yards and seven points, with the 39-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Greg Dortch being the only play that exceeded 3-yards in those drives.

The offensive struggles was a mixture of horrendous offensive line play and sloppy penalties that halted drives in their place. Six sacks and seven penalties for 53 yard was enough to give Arizona its fifth-straight home loss.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon walks the sidelines as his team plays the Jacksonville Jaguars at State Farm Stadium on Nov. 23, 2025.

At 3-8, and piling up historically bad loss after loss, head coach Jonathan Gannon is in a tough position to coach for his job in the final six games. If the damage hasn’t been done already, the road to recovery is rocky, with four road games in the final six games. Playoffs are out of the question, the rest of the year will be a true test of mental toughness from the coaches and players in the locker room.
