SAN DIEGO – As the Arizona Diamondbacks ended their 2025 MLB season, even in a 12-4 loss to the San Diego Padres, the Snakes celebrated something special as Geraldo Perdomo hit his 100th RBI of the season and being the first ever D-Backs shortstop to do so.

D-Backs celebrate Geraldo Perdomo’s accomplishment:
It came in the top of the ninth inning, in Perdomo’s last at bat, when he got his 100th RBI. A smoked ground ball to first base bounced around and scored Jorge Barrosa to hit the mark. Arizona’s dugout erupted when it happened, as they knew how special the moment was. (Credit: Todd Walsh | DBacks.TV)

Not only was it a huge accomplishment as he had the most RBIs as a shortstop in Diamondbacks history in a single season, but he put an exclamation point on it as he became the first D-Backs shortstop ever to hit 100 RBIs. Perdomo has officially finished his breakout season, ending with a .290 batting average, 20 home runs, and 100 RBIs with an .851 OPS. Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll have now found their third superstar, and with Perdomo’s new four-year extension, an anchor in the infield for years to come.

This moment was special for Diamondbacks fans, as two games prior, the Snakes were eliminated from 2025 postseason contention. The vibes were low, and it seemed deflated in the clubhouse. Though ending the season on a high note, such as Perdomo’s big moment, is galvanizing for a team that is built on chemistry. With as stellar a season as Perdomo has had, it’s nice to see it end for him on a massive high note.
