PHOENIX – Just a day after the Arizona Diamondbacks finished up their 2025 MLB season, D-Backs Manager Torey Lovullo will stay with Arizona next season, according to a team source, as reported by MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert and azcentral’s Nick Piecoro.

The D-Backs ended their 2025 season with an 80-82 record and missed the MLB postseason for the second year in a row after following their 2023 World Series appearance. This season was highlighted by injuries and an unstable bullpen that led from one problem after another. This caused a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Lovullo with this D-Backs ball club.

Reasons for Torey Lovullo staying in Arizona:
D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo and General Manager Mike Hazen have a deeper relationship, as they have been working together for a long time, dating back to their days in Boston with the Red Sox. With everything that’s happened with the D-Backs this season, Lovullo has earned some breathing room.

Even with all the problems that Arizona encountered this season and being sellers at the trade deadline, the D-Backs found themselves in the midst of an NL Wild Card race, something that only a good manager could bring out of a ball club.
