Who’s taking the hill today?
Eduardo Rodriguez makes his fourth start of the 2025 season, as he is sporting a 3.35 ERA so far. In four starts he has struck out 20 hitters and has only given up two home runs. His last outing didn’t far too well, as he was dealt a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, where he went six innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits. So far, E-Rod has been decent to start the season but has been a victim of poor defensive play that hurt his outings. His last game against Miami was back in August of 2024, where he pitched 5.1 innings and allowed only one earned run.
Miami will be having Edward Cabrera toe the rubber today, as he comes in with a 3.18 ERA. He will look to overcome injuries this season, as his last two years have been plagued by oblique and shoulder injuries. After starting this season with a blister, he now makes his second start for the Marlins. He is prone to giving up the long ball, as in his last outing against the D-Backs, he threw six innings but gave up three runs as Corbin Carroll and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a home run in that game.
Key players to watch:

Xavier Edwards has reached base four times for Miami, and although Edwards has yet to cross the plate, he will look to continue his hot-hitting streak. Pavin Smith has been, “paving the way”, as his plate discipline has netted him multi-hit games in three of the last six. Smith went 2-for-4 also with a home run in Wednesday’s win.
The Snakes will look to sweep the Marlins and get the brooms out in Miami on Thursday afternoon. The first pitch is today at 9:10 a.m. MST.
