In arguably the biggest game at Mountain America Stadium in years, ASU football will play for the first time as a ranked program this season as the Sun Devils are No. 21 heading into the clash against No. 14 BYU.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Last Saturday, Arizona State dominated then-No. 16 Kansas State in the first half and held on to a 24-14 victory on the road. Jordyn Tyson caught 12 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns while the defense had three interceptions in the victory. Cam Skattebo, who was sidelined against UCF a week prior, rushed 25 times for 73 yards in his return.
Besides one touchdown by running back Hinckley Ropati and a pair of field goals, the Cougars were unable to break through Kansas’ defense and lost its first game of the season, 17-13. BYU quarterback Jake Retlzaff completed 18-of-28 passes for 192 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Running back LJ Martin had 15 carries for 76 yards.
The Sun Devils are 20-8 all-time against BYU, but the Cougars won the last matchup 24-21 in Provo in 2021.

Prediction (Season Record: 6-4)
Arizona State 28-24 BYU
This game is a toss-up between two teams who want to extend their seasons even further, but only one will win. BYU is going to be aiming to return back in the win column after its first defeat of the season while Arizona State is playing with house money considering that the program was predicted to finish dead last in the conference. Whoever wins will ultimately end the other’s hope of making the Big 12 title game and the College Football Playoff. BYU’s offense has struggled as of late and ASU’s is rolling, but the Cougars defense is one of the top units in the country. Both teams have realistic arguments as to why they can win, but I believe Arizona State will just have enough to get the victory.
