Durant has missed all of Team USA’s practices since reporting to training camp a week ago in Las Vegas with a calf strain he suffered before arriving. He was also inactive for the team’s first exhibition game Wednesday against Canada due to the injury.

Coach Steve Kerr discussed what the team is thinking with Durant with their first game of the 2024 Paris Olympics 15 days away (July 28 against Serbia).

“I know there’s still a couple of weeks before we have to make a decision roster-wise,” Kerr said via ESPN. “So we’re just taking it day by day.”

However, Kerr is confident that Durant will be ready to go for the Olympics.

“It’s not something we’ve even discussed at this point because we feel good that (Durant) is going to be OK,” Kerr said.

Kawhi Leonard is already no longer with the team as he was released Wednesday due to his lingering knee injury and replaced by Derrick White.

Durant is Team USA men’s basketball’s all-time Olympic-leading point scorer (435 points) and has scored 640 points overall in his international career (most-ever for Team USA across the Olympics and FIBA). He has been a part of the last three Olympic teams, who have all won the gold medal with Durant as their leading scorer every year.
