Durant will not play in Team USA’s first exhibition game in Las Vegas after missing all four days of training camp with a minor calf strain. However, as reported by Arizona Sports‘ Kellan Olson, Kerr added that “Durant is doing plenty of stuff on the side and it won’t be long until he is back on the court with the team.”

According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, “Durant said he hurt his calf about 10 days before camp and is taking it day by day. Said he hopes to play in the Abu Dhabi portion of the trip, which is the next leg of it.”

Durant is Team USA men’s basketball’s all-time Olympic-leading point scorer (435 points) and has scored 640 points overall in his international career (most-ever for Team USA across the Olympics and FIBA). He has been a part of the last three Olympic teams, who have all won the gold medal with Durant as their leading scorer every year.

Tomorrow’s game against Canada tips off at 7:30 p.m. MST from Las Vegas and will be available to watch on FS1. Team USA plays five exhibition games with the next two after Canada in Abu Dhabi on July 15 (Australia) and 17 (Serbia).

USA begins play in the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 28 against Serbia.
