According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, he stated a source of his told him that Arizona will also host Texas WR Xavier Worthy for a pre-draft visit.

“Texas WR Xavier Worthy, who broke the Combine record for the 40 with a 4.21, is visiting the Cardinals today,” Rapoport said. “As they continue to do work on the top WRs. He was with the [Chicago] Bears yesterday.”

Before he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, the California native played three seasons (2021-23) for the Longhorns. Across 39 games, he totaled 197 receptions for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Worthy is a two-time first-team all-Big 12 receiver, the 2021 Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and a Freshman All-American.

At this year’s NFL Combine, Worthy set the 40-yard dash record of 4.21, breaking the record of 4.22 set by John Ross in 2017.

Once Worthy’s visit is confirmed, he’ll join Washington’s Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan, LSU’s Malik Nabers and Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. as receivers who have also met Arizona. South Carolina tight end Trey Knox can also play as a wideout as well.

When analyzing multiple mock drafts, many draft experts believe Worthy will either be a first or second-round pick.

The Cardinals have the No. 4, No. 27 and No. 35 picks in the first two rounds, so there is a noteworthy possibility of Arizona landing the soon-to-be 21-year-old. The 2024 NFL Draft is on April 25, with Worthy’s birthday on the 27th.
