In an interview with The Draft Network writer Justin Melo, South Carolina TE Trey Knox talked about a variety of different topics, including a list of teams he has spoken to like Arizona.

“I’ve had several virtual meetings, probably met with upwards of eight or nine teams,” Knox said. “I recently met with the [Houston] Texans and [Cincinnati] Bengals in person the day before Pro Day. I met with the Cardinals, [Denver] Broncos, [Minnesota] Vikings and [Los Angeles] Chargers on Zoom, to name a few more.”

Knox originally began his college career with four seasons (2019-2022) at the University of Arkansas. Listed as a wide receiver, he played 45 games, gathered 81 receptions for 883 yards and scored nine touchdowns.

Having a year of college eligibility left due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Knox exercised it and transferred to SEC rival South Carolina. Moved to tight end last season, he collected 37 catches for 312 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tennesse native is not expected to be a first-round pick but could be a Day 2 or 3 draft selection.

With Trey McBride breaking out last season as a potential star for Arizona, Knox could turn into a reliable option next to McBride or as a backup. Geoff Swaim is currently an unrestricted free agent after one season with the Cardinals.

Arizona has six picks across the first three rounds and 11 in total in this year’s draft.

The 2024 NFL Draft is April 25-27 in Detroit.
