The Aces went on to win 6-4, improving to 5-3 this season.
Although nothing has been set in stone quite yet, there is speculation that Montgomery could join the Diamondbacks for their lengthy road trip in mid-April.
The absence of Montgomery from the starting rotation, compounded by Eduardo Rodriguez’s placement on the injured list, has left the D-backs grappling with a weakened rotation early in the season.
This was evident in their recent series against the Braves, where Arizona was swept across three games. The starting rotation for those games featured Brandon Pfaadt, Tommy Henry, and Ryne Nelson.
It’s highly anticipated that Montgomery and Rodriguez will replace Henry and Nelson in the rotation once they’re ready to return.
As it stands, the Diamondbacks have a 4-6 record through the first ten games of the 2024 season
