The retirement of longtime Alabama head coach Nick Saban caused a domino effect across college football. Over 10 Wildcat players entered the portal and Williams made a decision relatively quickly.
Fisch recruited Williams in high school and was a significant reason why the four-star prospect initially chose Arizona. The Huskies offered the quarterback in 2022 but he decided to go in a different direction. With Fisch now running Washington’s team, Williams has a connection with the program.
Wildcats Lose A Top Prospect
This is a huge loss for Arizona. The dual-threat quarterback has uncapped potiential and was ranked No. 2 in the Wildcats recruiting class.
While Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita would start over Williams regardless, the team loses a talented prospect who could be elite in a few years.

As transfers continue weighing their options, the Wildcats will attempt to retain as many players as possible over the next few weeks.
